   I dont know what to say. Its the rubber grommet that fits bmw hoods to install the roundle/emblem. Its the right size and its made of rubber. It works.

   I was building a custom bed in my motorhome and needed lift supports to raise the bed to access under the bed for storage. After looking at many of the retail stores in person, I found that they were expensive and no one had the universal mounting brackets. So I decided to try Amazon and found this product. Not only were these a perfect fit for my project, but they had the universal mounting brackets to mount them to wood. This company had every bracket possible. Delivery was awesome, 3 days from ordering to delivery. Overall great price, company and service.

   I was building a new platform bed with storage underneath, similar to what you would find in many RVs. We have a heavy and thick mattress, so I wanted something to help hoist it up, and then hold it once it was there. It needs to operate easily enough for my wife to use regularly. These worked out perfectly! Just lift the bed a few inches, and the struts take it from there. I couldn’t be happier!

   Exact replacement, perfect fit for my truck lid and could not be happier with the results., April 19, 2012

   My 8 year old struts attached to my Leer Truck bed lid finally gave way, so I took the part number off the existing struts, ordered them on Amazon from API Clamps (on sale for $25/pair) and received them within a few short days. They ship out of Indiana, US Postal Service so expect slower shipment than UPS. Nevertheless, API Clamps included instructions how to remove the old strutss and install the new ones. It’s EXTREMELY important you lift the truck lid and use a 2×4 or something to hold it up. Since these struts are rated at 100lbs, it’s silly to even try and collapse them by hand, which is probably what the 1 negative review appears to have attempted. With the lid raised and propped with a 2×4, I used a small screwdriver to spread the metal clips and the struts snapped on very easily.

   With the new struts, the truck lid starts to rise when I operate the handle, which is what it did when it was newly installed 8 years ago. So the new struts lift the lid automatically again. I could not be happier with the results. I probably should have bought replacement struts a few years ago because the originals had just worn out and only held the lid up. With the great price sale, I bought a second pair I’ll store in my truck so I have another set to replace these when they eventually wear out. Kudo’s to Amazon and their vendor API Clamps for the promotion.
