Great upgrade over stock bushings., May 12, 2015

I just installed these last weekend and am very pleased with them so far. At the same time I replaced the stabilizer, aka sway bar, bushings. The thermoplastic bushings are a great upgrade over the standard elastomeric bushings. These are similar to polyurethane bushings, except these supposedly don’t need any grease to avoid squeaking. I didn’t want to chance it and have them squeak, so I applied minimal high temperature silicone grease which aids in assembly even if it isn’t needed to avoid squeaking. My only complaint is that the bolts could stand to be a little longer. They are about a quarter inch shorter than the stock end link bolts, and starting the nuts required loosening the stabilizer bushings almost completely to align everything well enough to start threading the nuts on. Once they were started, all went well. I tightened the bolts until about seven threads were showing. The nuts are oval type lock nut, so they shouldn’t back off. I probably could have tightened them more, but the preload felt sufficient and I had the bushings fully seated when I started everything. I’ll update this if I find they need adjusting in the future.
