   My lawn sweeper died on the second use. The plastic forming the gear portion of the wheel, which drives the rotating brushes, died on the second use. If you are like me, your yard probably isn’t as level and flat as a parking lot. This means that while rolling over the uneven surface the brushes of the sweeper bind periodically with the ground because the height of the brush relative to the ground is not constant. This binding produces torque and shear in the gearing driving the brushes. In my AgriFab sweeper the gear on the brush itself is metal. But the drive gear in the wheel is plastic. The result is that wheels must periodically be replaced because they will no longer drive the brushes.

   So…compared to the OEM wheels these wheels have now been used dozens of times. I have not yet noted ground plastic indicating stripped gears, though it will happen at some point due to the materials involved in the gears. So far these wheels are exceeding my expectations and are vastly superior to the OEM wheels.

   This is the second one I had to buy. Replaced the other side one with one of these and then the weaker built factory wheel broke so now that both wheels have been replaced my lawn sweep works fantastic!
