   When I purchased my Prius I purchased the extended warranty and service package. After my «free» 15,000 mile check up and tire rotation Toyota said my air filter was bad it my extended service package was not going to cover the cost. They wanted me to pay something like $65 bucks to replace the filter. Which is kinda upsetting and ridiculous. Anyway purchased this filter from Amazon and it was the exact filter that is needed for my 2012 Prius and was CRAZY simple to replace.

   The filter is a Toyota type so the fit for my 2010 Prius is perfect. The price via Amazon was 50% lower than what my local dealer wanted to charge me. The installation couldn’t be easier – takes less than a minute.

   Replacing the engine air filter in a Prius is one of the easiest maintenance things a person can do for their car. It helps MPG stay up (only slightly, but still) and compared to some of the other maintenance things I have done on my Prius since buying it 1.5 years ago… this is too easy to not do yourself.

   Thankfully, this air filter was only $10 and fit perfectly. Within seconds of unwrapping it, I had a new air filter in my car. That’s how freakin’ easy it is to replace! Unsnap, unsnap, remove old filter, pop new filter in, snap, snap, done.

   Now if only changing the oil on a Prius was this easy and cheap 😀
