Worked for barely four months and then lost programming, won’t accept new programming (new one on the way),
I bought one of these for my wife’s 2005 Honda Civic in January of this year. It’s barely hit 4 months and she came to me and told me it had stopped working, which it had. I had one of her old remote keyless entry units that I had finally replaced the battery in.
This unit will will no longer accept programming. I was able to reprogram her older, original unit, but this one from World Wide Remotes will no longer go into programming mode, let alone accept a new program. I even went so far as to try it on the tail end of successfully reprogramming her original keyless entry unit and still no luck.
I’ve already emailed their technical support. Based on another reviewers statements, I’m not very hopeful, though his never worked right out of the box, and ours did, but then died. I’ll update this once it’s resolved (or not).
Update: I’ve increased this to four stars because I received an email back bright and early this morning (Monday morning) asking me to just call them, and a new one is now on the way with a return label for the old one. This is a good indication. The lady I spoke with said this was not the norm, so it’s my hope that this was just an anomaly. I’ll update it again once the new one is reprogrammed.
Update: Wrote to these guys on May 17, 2015, which is when I wrote this review. Got a response the next day on May 18, 2015 asking me to simply call them. Called them, and they were supposed to send me a replacement, which a month and several days later they STILL haven’t done. Guess I get to waste more of my time contacting them, but I’m also most likely going to be contacting Amazon, though I don’t know if they’ll be any help. Also knocking them from 4 stars down to 1. This is ridiculous.

Breaks quickly, cannot replace battery – do not recommend,
The thing is splitting a bit along the seam, but that may have been the result of a violent fall it took before I got it coded. Despite coming apart a tiny bit, the remote still works a charm. One thing though: there isn’t a closure to open to replace the battery, like there was on my original key. This means I’ll have to buy a whole new one the next time my key dies. Hopefully, given how long my first remote lasted, this one will outlast the car itself!
Update: The thing plumb broke. I’ve had this Keyless Honda Remote for a few months and it stopped working within a few weeks of coding it. Now, past being non-functioning, this remote has split in half. I’ve lost all hope for its recovery. I still have all the pieces, but I’m not going to bother trying to put it back together because it wouldn’t work anyway.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this remote. You cannot replace the battery without breaking it, which is a wasteful policy on the part the maker, and the remote is not even that durable to begin with. I really wish this was a good option because it’s a convenient source, but alas, it’s not. Oh well.
