This amp could’ve solved world peace if only it worked as advertised. Horrible quality. A complete miss,
First off the bat; Power is 4ga, output wiring is14ga in a Hyundai Genesis. All five channels were wired using less than 100′ of wire. Speakers are all Polk Reference (6.5 separates in the doors, 6.5s coax in the rear, single 10″). Source is the factory HU rewired to an AudioControl LC7i with the bass restoration feature off, all gainst set to 1/4 – Nothing in this setup would stress any aftermarket amp of any wattage……this amp (according to published specs), should be MORE than enough for what I’ve described.
Right off the bat, the 5th channel wasn’t working at all; moving the gain up and down produced sound, but oddly enough only a single frequency of sound. I thought it was either the sub or the LC7i, but swapping RCA’s around I verified that there’s full range signal on all channels. I plugged in the factory speaker that’d come out of the rears to the sub output and the same thing happened. 5th channel is essentially useless, dead, broken. Since the 10″ sub is a dual coil, I just used channels 3/4 for the sub, and ran without the rears.
The bluetooth direct function is *great*. Clear signal, quality is as good as the source. Sadly, an iPhone5s bluetooth audio is not nearly as good as the lumia 1520 – huge difference. But the Lanzar took both inputs without fuss. There’s about a 10sec delay from the amp powering up to when the BT is visible. This would make a *great* solution in situations like a classic car where it’s either not feasible to mount a modern single DIN, or you want to leave everything in the dash stock but still want to rock some sounds. No source required! Pretty cool and works well.
Power output to the separates and sub using the rear channels was solid. Exactly where i was expecting it to be. Massing around with the various mode switches, bandpass functions and EQ functions made me realize pretty much every control on this amp is crap. EQ’s have an odd slope that’s completely inconsistent. You can hear the output jumping all over the place as you make adjustments. Switching from highpass to full range and back again results in completely different crossover points everytime you switch – no idea how that’s even possible. The trim pots for EQ adjustment are cheap. The switches are cheap. Everything about this amp is cheap and apparently only partially works as desired. What happened to Lanzar? This was one of the most desirable brands back in my day. This current product is crap. I hope I just got a dud, but seriously, I doubt it. Pretty sure this kind of quality is their current standard. Boss/Pyramid/Pyle of the early 90’s was even higher quality than this… 🙁
4 days after the install and now the amp continuously turns itself off and on like it’s going into thermal protection. Returning and trying for another brand.

Great buy.Amazing quality.True VFM.,
Tips: For those using your bluetooth devices as source use a flat eq on your apps that you are using and set gains on all channel including subwoofer.Once you have reached the desired output quality you can play with the eq on your devices.I currently use poweramp on my android as well as xiialive radio app to stream music. Both have individual equalizer settings. However streaming audio will have a lower quality as compared to your stored media ar 320kbps.Maybe its the way it is or its poweramp which makes my songs sound way better than online radio.
Atlast it has been the best audio setup in any of my cars.Am happy with the purchase.
