   2014 Jeep Patriot 2.4 AWD, 5M. The Patriot has a reputation as a rough runner. Frequent complaints are the engine lacks refinement, it’s noisy and chatters under hard acceleration. Well, long story short, it’s the sorry factory plugs. I think the factory intentionally installs cold plugs to get better mileage. This at the expense of a smooth running engine and acceleration. Honestly, when new I thought no way the valves should chatter thus. Changed out the factory plugs at the first oil change. Night and day difference. Smooth as a Toyota.

   This item paired with NGK (9578) HE62 Premium Spark Plug Wire Set smoothed out my idling issues quite well on my old 97 Accord SE, and you cannot doubt NGK’s quality either, I always use them on my cars. Look for better gas mileage, a smoother ride, and a tiny bit of performance when you buy NGK.

   Never had an issue with them. Just make sure you check the gap and adjust it for your vehicle.
   I use them for Civics 1996-2000 model years.
