   Good replacement lenses at a good price, June 5, 2015

   My wife’s 2006 Honda Civic headlight lenses were deteriorating from the sun’s UV. To buy replacement lenses from Honda would have cost about twice as much. In terms of installing them, they fit perfectly and they look great.

   Tip: Installing these lenses require removing the front bumper. The bumper is held on with two bolts, two Phillips screws and about 15 plastic ‘pushpin’ type clips. In removing the old ones, they will no-doubt snap off or crack. Also, on my wife’s car, many of those clips on the underside were missing (from riding up on parking lot curbs). They’re only ~$2 each and will save you a lot of time and frustration when you’re putting the car back together. I ordered the clips from http://www.hondapartsnow.com/. They have a great parts site; plug in your car’s VIN number and it will insure the parts will fit your car. Here were the ones that I needed.

   Was a perfect fit, but didn’t match exactly. Got these for my son’s 2007 Civic Coupe LX. The OEM’s had orange marker lens like the ones pictured here, but the ones in the box had clear marker lens. I had to get orange bulbs so that the turn signals would be the right color. In retrospect, I actually like the look of these better. Kind of a bummer than both Honda and Toyota autos require that the whole bumper cover be removed to swap out headlights.

   First of all, it should be clarified that these headlight head lamp DO NOT COME WITH BULBS. I didn’t realize that at the time, but it does say that on the description. I don’t mind because there are a lot of options when choosing bulbs (I decided on standard halogen bulbs for the low-beams, and high intensity bulbs for the high-beams).

   These look nearly identical to the factory-mounted headlamps they were replacing. They mounted cleanly, and easily just as I would expect an OEM part to do, and the bulbs fit perfectly. A quick test-drive on a bumpy dirt road confirmed they mounted solidly and securely as I expected them too.

   All in all, these are excellent replacements for my scratched and worn original lamps.
