   I placed a pair of these in my ’93 Chevy pickup. These lights are substantially better than the standard sealed beam halogen lamps. The light is whiter, and even though the wattage is matched, they certainly appear to be brighter. The other good news is that I am writing this review at least five years after these lights were installed; so at least for me, they are giving a decent service life with no noticeable deterioration of performance. If you’d like to be better able to see where you are going at night, you owe yourself a pair of these. The present price is actually a few bucks lower than what I originally paid, so they are a good value.

   I wasn’t terribly impressed with these headlights. I guess they are just a stock replacement and not meant as an upgrade, and are cheap, but still, given the option I would spring for something better. The beam pattern on the pair I bought was awful, very scattered and just throwing a lot of light in useless directions while leaving some darker spots immediately in front of the vehicle. I replaced them with a set of E-code style headlight housings with replaceable H4 bulbs and was much happier with those. However, the higher wattage H4 bulbs will require a wiring upgrade on many (if not all) vehicles, so they are definitely not a plug & play stock replacement like these lights are.

   If you’ve never replaced sealed beam headlights before, they are generally very easy to install. Just remove a few screws and maybe some trim pieces, and they will pull right out (and unplug). Definitely worth doing it yourself rather than paying someone to do it for you. I highly recommend using a slight amount of dielectric grease on the headlight terminals to prevent corrosion and make the headlight sockets push on easier.

   I bought a couple of these headlamps to replace my aging lamps, including one that someone busted up for their own kicks. These fit my 1999 Jeep Cherokee without issue, and they’ve been practical replacements for what I used to own. I always felt like the Jeep didn’t really illuminate the road that well, but I like how bright and white this light is, and I’m satisfied with the performance thus far. Pretty straightforward installation, should take about 10-20 minutes per lamp.
